Rishona obtained a LLB cum laude from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg in 2017 and the following year commenced her articles with a law firm in Pietermaritzburg. During this time, she gained valuable experience in both Conveyancing and Litigation.

Rishona was admitted as an attorney in 2020 and joined another Pietermaritzburg law firm as an Associate where she managed the Insurance Law Department attending to various litigation matters, which included motor vehicle collision claims, public liability and personal injury. She also attended to drafting of High Court and Magistrates Court pre-trials and trials, divorce applications, liquidations and debt collection matters.

Rishona joined Garlicke & Bousfield as an Associate in the Conveyancing & Property Department in 2022, was admitted as a conveyancer in November of that year and as a notary public in August 2023. In August 2025 she was appointed as a Senior Associate.
