Sanelisiwe Nyasulu obtained an LLB degree from the University of KwaZulu Natal in 2006 and thereafter, worked as a Judge’s Associate at the Labour Court in Durban and a Legal Mediator at LIPCO Law for All. She was admitted as an attorney in 2009 and joined Garlicke & Bousfield as an Associate in the Employment Law Department in 2010, becoming a Director in 2014.

In 2016 Garlicke & Bousfield established a dedicated Pro Bono Department, which Sane heads. She works closely with ProBono.Org at the Durban Labour Court where she provides legal services to those who would otherwise not be able to afford legal representation in court. Through her work with ProBono.Org she has assisted with workplace discipline, counselling and training for organisations such as the Durban Child & Youth Care Centre, the KZN Blind & Deaf Society and the KZN Deaf Association.

Sane serves as a Provincial Council Member on the EXCO, the Professional Affairs and the Provincial Management Committees of the KwaZulu-Natal Legal Practice Council; a member of the South African Society for Labour Law; a Trustee of the KayTech Empowerment Trust; a Non-Executive Director of KayTech (Pty) Ltd; a Non-Executive Director at the National Bioproducts Institute and a Trustee of the KZN Children’s Hospital Trust.

Sane has also been appointed as a director of the Al Baraka Bank.
