ABOUT
Karen completed her BA LLB degree in 1989 and joined the Department of Land Affairs as a Deeds Controller. During the nine years she was employed there she advanced to Chief Deeds Controller. In 1998 she joined a local law firm to serve her articles during which time she gained experience in family law, company law, insurance law as well as litigation in both the Magistrates’ and Superior Courts. In 2000 she joined another local firm and was appointed as Director there in 2002 managing the Conveyancing & Estates Departments.
In 2013 she moved to Mauritius and whilst there she completed her Masters degree in Environmental Law. Karen returned to South Africa in 2021 and joined Garlicke & Bousfield’s Property & Conveyancing Department as a Senior Associate in July 2023. Karen is also member of the Women’s Property Network.
